Chandler Pet Turf
Dog-friendly artificial grass with a base and backing built to drain, rinse and stay fresh.
Dogs wear Chandler grass down to dirt fast, especially along fences and in the spot they use as a bathroom. Pet turf fixes the mud, but only if urine has somewhere to go.
That's why pet turf starts with a fully perforated backing and a base that drains. Urine passes through the turf and into the base instead of sitting in the thatch, and a hose rinse carries it further down.
The City of Chandler cautions that artificial turf may not suit large, unshaded areas used often by children or pets, because of heat. So every pet turf plan we draw includes shade over the area your dog uses most.

Perforated across the whole sheet, not just a few drain holes.

Coated infill designed to resist odor instead of plain sand that traps it.

Side yards turned into clean runs with a gate and gravel border.

Turf placed under trees, pergolas or shade sails where dogs rest.
| Pet turf | Standard landscape turf | |
|---|---|---|
| Backing | Fully perforated, flows through | Hole-punched |
| Pile | Shorter and denser, easy to clean | Taller and softer |
| Infill | Odor-resistant, pet-safe | Usually silica sand |
| Base | Built to drain and rinse | Built for even footing |
Already have turf that smells near the dog spot? Usually the infill and base are holding urine. A deep cleaning with an enzyme treatment often solves it, and our turf cleaning page explains how that visit works.
The City of Chandler notes that artificial turf can reach 180 degrees in summer and suggests shade trees to help control the heat. We plan turf around existing shade, add shade sails or trees where you'll spend time, and leave a hose bib close by for a quick rinse on hot afternoons.
Not if it drains and gets rinsed. Smell comes from urine trapped in the infill or a base that doesn't drain. Pet turf with flow-through backing and odor-resistant infill, plus a weekly hose rinse, keeps it fresh.
It's hard for them. Nailed edges and seams hold well, and we can add a border of pavestone or wire along fences for diggers.
It can get very hot in full sun. The City of Chandler notes turf can reach 180 degrees in summer, so we plan shade over pet areas and suggest rinsing before your dog goes out on hot afternoons.
Pick it up as you would on grass, then hose the spot. We can schedule periodic deep cleanings too.
Tell us about your dogs and the part of the yard they use. We'll measure and suggest a layout with shade.
