San Marcos Artificial Turf
Turf installation, pet turf and turf cleaning planned for San Marcos yards.
The San Marcos area surrounds the historic San Marcos golf course, just west of the San Marcos hotel building near downtown Chandler. Some of the city's older homes sit on these streets under mature shade trees.
Older yards here have big trees whose roots and shade make grass hard to grow. Turf can work in the shade, as long as it stays clear of trunks and root flares and the base isn't cut into major roots.
The City of Chandler's grass removal rebate doesn't cover artificial turf. The City says any landscaped area converted to artificial turf won't qualify, and the rebate itself is for living grass converted to low-water landscaping. If you're counting on that rebate, ask the City's Water Conservation Office about your plan before the grass comes out.
Turf where grass gave up under trees.
Gravel rings around trunks and roots.
Neat turf beside older front walks.
Not if it's planned right. We keep turf back from trunks, avoid cutting major roots and leave open ground for water and air.
Yes. It doesn't need sun, though fallen leaves mean more frequent blowing off.
